Sup guys,
Here are my videos for the week, they are Precision’s routines from the Guitar Center and Kool Mixx Battles. Precision is one of the baddest turntablists out there, the dude has sick cuts and also is one of the best beat jugglers ever imo. He has definitely been a big inspiration to my dj’ing. Check out these two clips of him ripping shit up!

Thats right… the 2010 NZ DMC’s is not happening.
They were scheduled for July, but has confirmed on his blog that the 2010 DMC’s aren’t going to happen.
He has said the following in a post on his blog:
After a lot of consideration I have decided not to run the DMC’s this year. It’s partly because I have no time or money to run it this year. But it is mainly due to the lack of up in coming talent. Apart from DJ Impact and Wil K the standard hasn’t progressed enough to warrant running the competition.
I offered it to a couple of peeps but everyone is on the same page with how I’m feeling.
Maybe if the scene changes we’ll look at doing it again.
So there is is people. No DMC’s this year.
What up everyone.

Finally it’s here… Rob Swift’s Album “The Architect” has dropped.
This album looks awesome, I haven’t copped a copy of it yet, but judging by Rob Swift’s Skill, the first single (which I posted a while back), and track list- it looks like it’s a good listen.
Visit Rob Swift’s Website for more information.

PS: DJ Rob Swift is touring Aussie in May. More information to come!
Sup guys,
Sorry for the late post, was meant to do one in the weekend but i was mad busy. Here is a clip of DJ Takada’s Elimination Routine in the 1999 DMC World Finals. This set is badass, he was really funky and musical. He made it into the finals that evening but didn’t place, def one of my favs from the battle though. 1999 was a real good year for turntablism, all the other battles were quality too. It was probably my favourite year for battles, anyway… check this out!!

I’m going to Melbourne tonight for a holiday and Good Vibrations on Sunday!
Impact is in charge and will be updating the blog as much as he can. I might come on and drop some Melbourne flicks etc.
Catch y’all next week!

It’s the end of an era, but the beginning of a new one.
The DMC brand is no longer in New Zealand and instead been replaced with a new brand called “Mix Foundation”. Along with these changes we see the DMC Wellington store closed down and the Auckland store rebranded as this…

For everyone in Wellington, the DMC Store on Cuba Street closes down this Friday and they have a clearance sale on from now until then. Get down there and check it out- You might get something cool for cheap!
I came across this DJ Soul (NYC) mixtape a few weeks ago and got reminded to post it up by my man DJ Kase. DJ Kase (as featured in the last post) is doing a Soul Gig in Wellington soon and for all the Welli heads, hit him up for details and go!
This mixtape isn’t your average mixtape. It is a mixtape of just soul music and thats it. Think of this as the ultimate spot the sample slow jams mixtape!
This is some easy Sunday afternoon listening right here, so download and enjoy!!!

Edit: Link Fixed.. I fucked it up when making the post. My Bad!

DJ Kase is a former DMC & ITF DJ and now focusses as being a producer and DJing clubsets and the likes. Look out for more of his work in 2010. His new crew “Lunch Cutters Annoymous” are going to be dropping some heat in the months to come.
I was nosing around on Soundcloud and stumbled upon this scratch break he has done called Oh Shit.
Check it out on the player below and comment your thoughts!
