What up!

My homie Jyeah linked me to this video while I was at work today. This video is quite old, but I’ve honestly never seen it, so here it is. D-Styles smashes it. Check it!

So.. If you haven’t been around the net or living under a rock- you should have heard by now that Activision are releasing a game called DJ Hero.

The game sounds like it’s gonna be pretty cool, featuring scratching etc.. and the controllor will be a turntable- with a crossfader. I have seen many DJ Games around (the old shits at the arcades) that didn’t have a fader.. That shit was Gay!

This time round, it doesn’t seem like DJ’s input has been annoyed. There has been input and work put into this project by legends such as Z-Trip and DJ Shadow. The music content is having great input by Jay-Z (my number 1 rapper of all time) and Eminem.

I have been watching videos put on by DJ Skee and others who have been demoing the game online and shit looks pretty cool. Lots of tabilists are probably spewing about it, but fuck it- From what I seen, it looks choice.

Activision plans to release the game in October sometime. Keep your eyes and ears out for more info. Below is one of the preview videos i’ve seen so far.

There is going to be an Elimination round and then after that it’ll be 1 round per week. This is how it’s gonna go down…

Elimination Round…

DJ’s are to submit a 3 minute video routine to me by 11:59pm, 1st of May. I’ll make up an email in the next day and post it in here.

Truent and I will be ranking the DJ’s from 1st to 8th or 1st to 4th, depending on the number of entrants. The first ranked DJ will battle against the last ranked, 2nd – 7th and so on. I’ll have the results and clips of the Eliminations up by the next day.

1st Round or Quarter Finals…

DJ’s are to submit 2 x 90 sec video routines to me by 11:59pm, 8th of May. I’ll have the results up of who’s advancing to the next round and the videos the day after. You can send the two routines together as 1 video clip/file if you want.

Semi Finals or Finals…

DJ’s are to submit 2 x 90 sec video routines by 11:59pm, 15th of May. I’ll have the results of who advances the day after.

If there are enough DJ’s to pick a top 8 the final two DJ’s that will advance will have to submit their next next lot of 2 x 90 sec sets by the 22nd of May, you know the deal. Otherwise if it’s cut down to a top 4 for the first round, whoever wins this round is the winner of the whole series!

I’m chucking up a poll that’s going to close on 22nd April at 5pm. If you guys vote that Serato can’t be used, i’ll disqualify you carrnts if i catch you using that shit! Hahaha
