DJ Battles vs. MC Battles

Ahhh yes. I was going to resist this post, but fuck it. I can’t.

MC Battles:

An observation I’ve noticed with rappers is that everyone these days bitches, moans, cries and shit when they lose an MC battle. When someone offers criticism, it seems to be seen as dissing or something personal against them. Why the fuck rap if you can’t handle the jandal on what people think on your talent? If you weren’t as good on the night, then who cares- theres always next time. Not much point having a mean as sookie to everyone about it. If you’re angry, bitter and think you can do it, then do it next time and prove yourself to everyone.

DJ Battles:

DJ Battles are completely relaxed and on some peaceful shit. As of late DJs (including myself) rock up and do their thing. Once they have done their set (DMC format) or their sets (ITF Format) then the DJ’s all get on the piss together and get smashed. When the winners are announced, they don’t give a fuck- they drink more and get really smashed. When we go home, we just think about next year, practice up and make sure next time round they can prove themselves to be better than ever before.

Just some general observations between the two “Hip Hop codes” (if you want to call it that). I find it funny how the DJ Battles and MC battles are completely different in atmosphere and the way losses are dealt with.

Those seem like some gross generalisations bro. I remember DJ battles where there was a fair amount of tension and some where there wasn’t.

haha nah man deejays can be just as bad….. like after last years christ city champs DJ Korrect was bitching hard that he came second…. my boy sticky fingaz had a hardout mad sookie after the 2005 SI dmc finals….haha

some people just see the good in themselves and the bad in others which clouds their judgement…..

i get what you really mean….. pipes is being a bit of a bitch and d-form, spell etc are sweet as…… haha

Nah bo thats just the Christchurch sooky bubba way I think they dont do that shit up here..hahahaha nah

Hard djs have sooks afterward too I think they just dont air it out allowed. You hear it back via a txt that they werent happy with a decision, or people ring you saying you cant enter out of zone type shit, its hardcase, rock up to the gig and be “chur bo”… hahaha its eats azz but funny.

The scenes mellow at the moment though, good buzz, just do your thing and see what happens.

    2MUCH!

    cheers Pause,
For the record, I didn’t do any bitching about coming second. I had a rant about someone talking shit who wasn’t at the battle which you saw at my house the day after – not about the result.

  7. pause Says:

hmmmm. im sure you were saying how all your boys thought you shudda won. And you agreed that u shudda have won.

it may have come from a different place from you perspective but when i was there at your house it sounded like bitching…… rost in tlansration maybe??
