As you may have seen a few posts back you would have seen that Sir-Vere has announced a come back of Major Flavours into the New Zealand market. The CD will be Titled Major Flavours 2009 and is a follow up to Major Flavours 6.

I mentioned changes to things such as Scratch Breaks and Sampling etc… He has shed some more light on his blog about the project so everyone knows what to expect and so they can see what’s up.

I’m happy to announce that in late 2009 (probably around October) the Major Flavours series will restart in New Zealand. It’s been a while since Volume 6 and for those of you not aware, I’ve released 3 volumes in Australia while it’s been gone in Aotearoa. In July 2009 I’ll be doing another Aussie issue, my fourth and backing it up with a huge tour. Unfortunately in 2009 the record industry is a much different beast, so the CD won’t be quite like the old volumes.

Back then I was allowed to stuff 40 tracks on to one CD and have 8 scratch breaks and 5 freestyles. Licencing rules have changed dramatically (mafuckas) and so it will be a different, more commercial outing, but you know as always I’ll do my thing and I will have a couple of key homies doing their thing (my bros DJCXL, Manchoo and Raw will get their turn no fucking doubt).

So yeah, it’s a BIG year for me cos the Aussie tour is huge and takes up a lot of time, plus Ill come off that tour and go straight into a NZ one, but its always awesome fun and its the part I really love. It will also see my return to places I haven’t visited in a while, so expect me back in Whangarei, Palmerston North, etc real soon.

Thanks for your continued support. To date nearly a quarter of a million Major Flavours CDs have been sold, so I know youre digging it, its my job to keep it moving regardless of what the industry throws at me.

Oh yeah, keep an eye on this blog cos I’m going to up a couple of mix CDs that were super limited edition as a free download. Just let me get this deadline out the way.
