The ITF’s (IDA) Are Back In New Zealand!
I am happy to confirm the return of the ITF DJ Battles to New Zealand! The ITF Battles now have been re-branded since the last NZ ITF Battle in 2003. The competition is now known as the IDA (International DJ Association). The battle will be held at Zen on November 28th in Auckland City.
This battle marks a significant point for Turntablism in New Zealand as this years battle is invite only and will consist of New Zealand & Australian Turntablists going head to head to see who wins. Last years champion was Perplex from Australia, but he has since then retired from Battles. Moving into the Defending Champion role is the 2008 IDA Runner Up, NZ DMC Champion & 2009 4th Place DMC World Champion DJ Impact!
If Impact can Defend his title, he will get flown over to Poland to take on the world in the IDA World Finals. To my knowledge, no NZ DJ has made it past the first round at the ITF’s. If he can do it, then he will be the first NZ DJ to do so.

This is HUGE in terms of the turntablist revival here in NZ. Of course it never died but did go a little quiet after the ITFs were no longer held. I wonder who will representing the nominated countries? Impact will take it out!

I have no idea who’s in the battle. All I know is what I’ve posted above. If you want to hit up anyone about entry and invites then you should get at either DJ Raw, DJ Pause or KC in Aussie.
