Serato’s NAMM 2010 Releases (Pt. 3)
Serato & Ableton have joined forces and have come up with something so ridiculously crazy, I predict it’s about to fuck up the purchases DJ’s make to Protools & Apple (for Logic Pro).
Introducing “The Bridge”. It’s a plugin for Serato Scratch Live to work with Ableton Live and vice verca.
There are 2 parts to this plugin- The first is Ableton working inside Serato Scratch Live and the second is Serato Scratch Live working inside Ableton.
Part 1 – Ableton Live into Serato Scratch Live:
You can have a studio session inside Ableton Live and import it into Serato Scratch Live and play with it. This is highly handy if you’re a producer who uses Ableton Live
Part 2 – Serato Scratch Live into Ableton Live:
This part is the bit which is going to change the mixtape game completely. You can record your Serato Sessions (Your DJ Sets) into Ableton Live. This means you’re able to record all your sets into mixtapes on the fly without a lot of effort.
Now along with these comes a price. “The Bridge” as a plugin is Free Of Charge. However if you don’t have Ableton Pro you’re going to have to purchase it for this feature to work. Of course you’re going to have Serato Scratch Live with Hardware – But I’m sure you already own that side of it.
