With the lack of DJ battles for 2010, DJ Reminise has decided to put on a battle called the UDJ (Ultimate DJ) Battle.

There are 2 battles. 1 Turntablist Battle and 1 Club Battle. The Turntablist battle will be on a single night and the club battle will be spread out over heats and the winners of each heat go into the final.

The details for each battle are as follows:

Turntablist Battle:

The fundamentals of scratching & beat juggling are mandatory…. See more
The one-on-one, sudden death makes this the hardest & most intense DJ Battle.
Vinyl records & Serato in Absolute mode only.

2 DJ Setups – 2 Technics SL-1210 Turntables & a Rane TTM57 mixer (no effects or modifications allowed)

- 3min Prelims where 8 DJs will Advance to Quarter Finals.
- Quarter Finals 8 DJs head to head 2 rounds each / 90sec sets.
- Semi Finals 4 DJs head to head / 2 rounds / 90sec each
- Final 2 DJs head to head / 2 rounds / 2min each

Immediate judgement takes place on stage with judges showing their No.1 or 2 card to the audience.

Musicality:
Harmony of set, Excitement.

Originality:
Creativity, Innovation, Composition.

Skills:
Technical ability, Difficulty, Combos.

Patterns:
Structure of set, Arrangement.

Style:
Stage Presence, Composure, Overall Impression.

If there are more than 8 DJ’s registered to enter, then an Eliminations round will take place. More info to come closer to the time.

CLUB DJ BATTLE:

Is judged on the Complete DJ:

Stage presence, beat mixing, crowd response, music selection, arrangement,
technical ability, scratching, microphone skills, originality, creativity, intro & outro.

Rules:
Vinyl records & Serato in Absolute mode only.

Gear:
2 Technics SL-1210 Turntables & a Rane TTM57 mixer (no CDJ’s are allowed or provided)

Time Limit:
30min club set

The Music:
Original tracks only (no remixes, party breaks & etc)

The Dates:
Heats are on June 4th, June 11th, and June 18th. The Grand Final is on June 25th.

Must supply your own needles, headphones, slipmats & vinyl.
