As you all know the homie DJ Vajra just took out the DMC US Finals in the weekend and will be travelling to London in October to represent the US in the DMC World Finals!

The footage of his routine probably won’t pop up online until after the World Finals or unless he uploads it himself as I know the organisers are very strict on making sure there is no filming at the event.

I was just talking to the homie Shiftee and he has just made a sick video clip of his 2009 DMC World Finals Winning Routine. This is the illest clip i’ve seen with all the past champs doing their winning routines on their Gold Turntables.

The concept was real sick and original, our mans should get an award for this haha! He said we could share it here at Scratchdat for everyone to check out, so watch this shit!

It’s that time of the year again and the 1st day of the DMC World Finals in London just ended. Below are the results for the World Supremacys and the World Team Battles.

Battle For World Supremacy:

1st: Switch – Defending Champ! (UK)
2nd: Getback – (France)
3rd Equal: Solo – (USA) and the other DJ still has TBC.

World Team Finals:

1st: Kireek – Defending Champ! (Japan)
2nd: Trauma Team – (France)
3rd: Bionic Stylus Crew – (UK)

Sounds like the 1st night at the DMC World Finals was another dope battle. Looking forward for to the release of the DVD.

Congrats to my homie Switch (UK) for winning it a 3rd time, breaking the record of most title wins in a row at the World Supremacys. Another big shout out goes to Kireek (Japan) for succesfully defending their title in the World Teams Champs. They are now tied with C2C (France) with 4 consecutive wins!!

Precision is one of the baddest turntablists out there, the dude has sick cuts and also is one of the best beat jugglers ever imo. He has definitely been a big inspiration to my dj’ing. This set is badass, he was really funky and musical. He made it into the finals that evening but didn’t place, def one of my favs from the battle though. 1999 was a real good year for turntablism, all the other battles were quality too. It was probably my favourite year for battles, anyway… check this out!!

It saddens me to put up this post. As you may have seen a few posts back, I wrote about Roc Raida having a really bad accident. The accident wasn’t involving a car, it happened while practising Martial Arts. Today that accident has resulted to the death of one of the greatest Turntablists of all time.

I can’t believe he has passed on. This guy has given EVERY TURNTABLIST (don’t front!) inspiration to scratch, juggle, produce and mix.
