Time For Joe Turksta To Explain Himself…..

Right…

A lot of you have seen my Facebook Status’ about calling out DJ’s about their status. Yes, I’m talking about Lenium and yes I’m talking about Edx (DJ in Hamilton). I’m sure Lenium or Edx will give me a belting in a club battle, and I don’t have an issue with that. I’m not even attacking the skills or talent that these guys have. As for me? I ain’t shit. I don’t have much decent experience in a club situation as yet, and I’ve only ever DJ’ed maybe 10 or so club gigs over the years so far.

I’ve been told that I’m shit stirring or that I should battle them and what not (I would if i was called out), so I want to clear the air as to why I call people out for their false claims and bullshit.

It comes down to a few things:

1) Respect/Disrespect
2) Not being true to yourself
3) Lying to the public
4) Wearing your stripes without earning them

Stop lying and earn your stripes before even trying to label yourself as the best. Those who paved the way for you are usually the best and still DJing when you are.

I really don’t give a fuck what people think, i’ll call you out for being an outright dick. If i cop a smack for it – all good! I don’t mind getting served. Getting served shows that you’re not man enough to be told the truth.

DJ Lenium Is Off To Court

How about that…. Playboy is taking Lenium to court over his “Playboy Parties”.

The guy who claims himself to be “NZ’s Number #1 DJ” might as well be labelled as “NZ’s #1 Amateur promoter”.

Check this shit out: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10731178

Adult entertainment giant Playboy is suing an Auckland bar and promotions company for having an “official” Playboy party without its consent.

Playboy Enterprises International has taken Bakehouse Entertainment Limited, which owns Osborne Street Bar in Newmarket, and promoter Lenium Beats Limited to court for breaching its Playboy, Playmate and famous Rabbit Head trademarks.

A flyer produced for the party said it was being held “in association with Playboy”, and would “bring to life the dark secrets and mysteries of the Playboy lifestyle”.

“This is not a night for the faint hearted. Be prepared to indulge and be indulged in a sexy night of mystique and seduction,” it said.

Tickets were on sale for $15 each.

The invitation was displayed outside the bar and in other public places around Auckland. It also appeared on two event websites and on Facebook.

Playboy is seeking a court declaration that its trademarks were infringed. It also wants an injunction restraining the defendants from doing it again, destruction of all infringing material, an inquiry into damages suffered by Playboy, and for the defendants to pay for its court costs.

“The activities of the defendants… are likely to cause confusion or deception in the course of trade and will result in the defendants’ services being passed off as the plaintiff’s services,” Playboy’s statement of claim said.

Lawyers for the two parties briefly appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning but NZPA understands there have been moves to settle the matter outside of court.
